A salute to limited vocabulary

posted in food, politics |

In keeping with the “I can’t believe I…” meme, I’ve watched all three of the “Who wants to be a president?” debates. Last evening, I learned that democracy only works when the involved parties want it to; right now, we don’t know if the distinction between “I won” and “I lost” will be respected. On a similar note, Twitter has found a new way to salute the limited vocabulary of one debater: #TrumpBookReports

With continued good weather, and the return of our lower neighbour to the south, we decided to walk down the lane for the afternoon. Those apple trees beckoned. The first tree was bitter, the second tree was barren (windfall) and the third was so good that we took pictures, including prominent landmarks, to aid in finding our way there one year from now.

Already out of the house, we continued to explore. In and out among the trees, admiring how the neighbours live (during the summer months). Too far from the road for my tastes, but we did startle a large bird that remains unidentified (possibly an owl). There were opportunities for photos, and the dog considered it to be great fun. Yes, one arm is slowly growing longer than the other…

I’m busy data mining the library books; the head count in my GEDCOM is creeping up on 58K. Perhaps during the weekend. After all, the books do have to be returned. And with that, the day ends on a quiet note. Oh, yes; I called the door people to see why we had not heard anything more. The technician will be dispatched.
