Weather what-if

posted in Wx |

Sitting on the deck, in full suntanning mode. Preparing steaks on the BBQ, at sundown, in shorts. In October. Fair compensation for any perceived delay in the arrival of summer.

To be fair, there’s risk. What if that monster hurricane doesn’t subside? What if we get a full-on blow, next weekend? What to do with the “under warranty call” door, with the ability to seep? (easy answer; involves duct tape).  Still days away, anyway.

The dog is ready to sleep on the lawn, most afternoons. That way, if a vehicle turns in the drive, he’s in place to do his greeting “song and dance”.

Meanwhile, the decision (announced yesterday) to unilaterally “impose” carbon tax levels seems to have created a storm of its own. In one camp, the old school politicians that forget a fundamental part of “the deal”; all revenues remain in their purview. In the other camp, the rest (of us), who recognize that without financal pan, nothing will change… except the climate.

Tonight, TV is dedicated to another debate. The VP portion. Quick: name the last three US VPs. Easy? Then name their competition, in each election. If you can handle those questions, you are an outlier. You really should be working for network TV, tonight. Otherwise, I hear that baseball is moving into the World Series preliminaries.

Me? I think I’ll find a good book and chill. Perhaps listen to some new (or old) music. Anything, other than debates or the slow agony of a ball game.

The dog agrees.
