Upset my app(le) cart
One day later, and my iToy, as a friend refers to devices from the Apple Corporation, is back in working order. Their software people released a functional update. The only glitch; all of my data is gone. This required a factory reset.
I’m not sure if this is good or bad. Let’s face it. A few years on any computer, and you gather a lot of fluff. This afternoon I had to make some serious decisions about which apps were really necessary. The “store” had an approximate list (that surprised me; I would have given this an all or none possibility), so I’ve been busy putting order back into things, and finding where the rare and precious apps could be downloaded. As well, there’s that chase to find passwords. No single signon for me…
Right now, my topographical maps are downloading. The scale must have changed, because the Island requires well over a hundred tiny squares for the complete set. Maybe I don’t need (right now) the neighbouring provinces. I’ll leave that for a later bored moment.
Another downside is that all my bookmarks are gone. Not the end of the world; I know how to use Google. Ditto for all those appliance manuals that I had stored away for a just in case moment. After all, I won’t need to reinstall the dishwasher in the near future.
I did get outside for a bit. Whip the weeds time. Hang on to the whacker for awhile and some serious numbness sets in… glad I don’t do that for a living.
