Search mode now off
The missing power cable for my transceiver has really bothered me. I know, yesterday I went so far as to order another one, but the transaction was held up awaiting a quote for postage fees. And in the meantime, my subconscious remained in process mode.
It seemed impossible that the only box of stuff I really need would be gone. Didn’t seem logical; and with the added force that comes from having to buy something twice, I went back into search mode. Turns out, under that large pile of cartons in the center of the garage, there was one more. By carefully moving the bigger ones out of the way, I hit the jackpot. Two different power cables. A Morse key that I actually prefer to use. A missing SDR that will sit on the home network. And other odds and ends. All in all, a great conclusion to the search.
I also pulled out another laptop (the really portable one) and let it jump into the WinTen ring. Again, most of the afternoon, but I had other things to do. Just check the progress percentages from time to time. This unit has a touch screen; I’ll be interested to see if the drivers are already there, or if I have another search ahead.
Still too wet to cut the lawn. With no respite in sight, the grass will get ample opportunity to root down and become the lawn I know it wants to be. Perhaps serve as inspiration to the other thousands of seeds.
A quick look at the calendar reminds me that I moved in here one year ago today.
