Making a new bed
We’re back to regularly scheduled sleeping at our house. The makeshift hospital has returned to guest room in waiting. No big deal, really. However, when the morning started, I had no idea how my afternoon would end.
I’ve planted another model of bed. This time, from scratch, involving strawberries. Far too early to tell if I correctly followed my YouTube tutorial, but it seemed to go well. Place the raised bed and nail things together. Mix and dump the sixteen sacks of black soil from elsewhere, in our new wheelbarrow. Smooth things down, and then go and prep the plants.
Based on my video, I had to soak the individual plants for about half an hour; a step referred to as “hydration”. Then, carefully distinguishing which end should be up (“the crown”), I prepared a grid and stuffed each one into a shallow hole. Now, we wait. There’s no risk of frost, according to Boomer, so I should be good to go.
In another quiet moment, I decided that it was time to install the new screen cover on the iPad. After all, the package arrived about a week ago; I had run out of excuses for any further delay. Getting all the dust particles away before sticking things down is a challenge, both at home and in the workplace. I speak as a trained professional here. This time around, I appear to have dodged the usual bullet. It looks good, and my decision to go with a “glass one” was justified. Now to hope that the aged battery continues to tough it out.
