Once the roots lock in

posted in environment |

Even if my social media skills are mediocre, I appreciate the equality it brings. While mass media is controlled by others, we can still get our word out to the masses.

This weekend, the former governing party decided to celebrate the legacy of their former leader. Including a hashtag… on Twitter. Was anyone else surprised, when the tone of the moment changed? After all, let your minions speak, and you hear your favorite tone poem. Let the rest of us have an input… Wait, what?

But that’s just one moment, among so many others.

Instead, let’s look at the “big picture”. Who needs former leaders? Let’s pay attention to more pertinent topics. What TV show will be renewed? What’s the weather in Wherever? Can you sing along, in key? After all, the whole world is out there. The Internet does a reasonable job of showcasing just about everything, if you have time to look and learn.

A change of scenery: the front of our house is in bloom. The beds are taking on a festive air, after a wild day of transplanting by the gardener-in-chief. More species, more variety. Soon have to get some photos, once the roots have had a chance to lock in. Right now, the weather is a bit grey and damp, but that’s perfect for a garden in growth. Two weeks from now, when summer will be the only thing on our minds, this should look great.

And if we’re really successful, there’ll also be veggies galore. That’s the next big campaign in our “change the view” around here.
