Familiarity with every semicolon

posted in media |

There you go. Clear sky. No wind. Full moon in view. And then my “old fella” voice murmurs… “Close the door. Cold outside!” Such is my life. Had to go and convince the dog that it was time to come in, before the chorus starts to howl. That kind of evening. I can hear the buoy up at the point, and the occasional rumble of whatever going by on the road outside.

I had to spend the afternoon in clerical mode, proofing and retyping a couple of documents for my local committee. The original had been forwarded from a law clerk, in PDF format. Of course, on conversion, I learned that the original was a printed text, scanned optically into something utterly useless in my context. I now can plead great familiarity with every semicolon and indent.

I received my new battery operated screwdriver today. Actually a drill/driver, which ups the physical size. Now I’ll be off to the local hardware emporium, in the morning,  to find the perfect set of assorted bits. My current need goes to the Robertson side, and even though that isn’t the label, I know that one of the many sets out there will contain what I need. Tomorrow morning! While I get more groceries! The excitement is overpowering.

We missed out on a huge snowstorm. Newfoundland got the nod, and the news reports point out that spring is but a concept. We will, no doubt, get a few more flurries between now and beach time, but the need to arm myself with a shovel is over for another year.
