A skim of ice

posted in environment, Idol |

It may be, in part, my fault. I’ve reached an age where my musical idols are disappearing, one after another. Today, word that the E from ELP has passed. Seriously, even though the creative output of these people remains available in recorded format, it’s sobering to think that there will be no new material. And, that the next cohort doesn’t appear to have the same depth of talent or inspiration. Something to think about.

Watched this week’s Idol performances. Two more good kids are on their way home, forgotten except in YouTube excerpts. The level of judging is way up, compared to a few seasons ago (Dawg!), but in just over a month, this too will end. We’ll be back to Beliebering…

One of the better purchases made, here, since we arrived has been a spotting scope that remains at the ready near the deck doors. A quick way to check what’s going on, out to sea. Right now, we have a skim of ice that comes and goes, driven by breezes and tides. I admit to a certain fascination with the view. Nothing repetitive here. Can’t wait to get my webcam up and running. I received a pair of Pi power supplies, yesterday, so all that remains is for me to commit to configuration.

The Republican madness continues. Today, a postponement of a Trump-o-rama, after “verbal clashes” between groups. Can’t imagine what that actually means; in areas where guns are firmly attached to egos, it can only get worse. Just a thought: why don’t the people in the “land of the free” keep the current POTUS for another decade or so. You can amend that constitution that trumps all other thought, right?
