A promise to rectify things

posted in environment, technology |

As part of an ongoing mission, I had the camera out, last evening. Capturing images of a wet piece of windowsill, to be then sent to the two mailboxes of the contractor. With a “read” return, of course. Both bells rang, this morning, quickly followed by a promise to visit and rectify the ongoing problem, this week. I’m willing to stay close to the place, if this actually gets me some satisfaction. On the other hand, if the next four days are just a cooling off exercise… well, we’d better hope for a cold snap. This has been dragging on for about six months.

On to better things. I’ve quickly realized, during this search for THE bike of my future, that I’ll also need to keep the beast in a state of relative repair. Can’t afford to drive down to town for something like a broken spoke. As it happens, my specific tools were purchased for other, specific bikes. Some upgrades are due.

I threw the question out to son #2 (that’s what fathers do, when they reach a certain age). He suggested a firm located in Ireland that actually does mailorder to Canada. How cool is that?! And so I approached it in my usual fashion; see what is available for less than “Park” prices. My order is in (over?), and I’ll see if the cross-ocean path is an easy voyage. After all, might as well prepare for the eventual arrival of a new two wheeler in the garage. I’d have gone to town, today, but the high winds and rain gave me pause.
