Breeze on the water
During the night, a round of high winds and rain. Exciting, almost… that window that likes to “harvest” water was, once again, wet. And I was, once again, using my photographic skills to prepare the “send” to the contractor. Please, just fix the thing. No more wondering; it needs to be pulled and replaced. Before the winter chills.
Mind you, the winds never really died down, and I had to get out during daylight and see what the land/sea meeting point had going, visually. First clue, when we crested the rise near the lighthouse, and it looked like a line of smoke on the horizon. Call that a troubled sea. Down at the end of the road, it was almost too windy to hold the camera up. I snapped a few photos, fully realizing that the image will never do justice to the real thing.
Another stop, over at the harbour. Again, almost too much of a breeze to get out of the car. The dog was unimpressed. Along one laneway, a gull that had crash landed. Can’t wait until we get a real blow through here (we will).
This evening, a father and son leading the dog adventure. Follow the faint trace of the highway, in both directions. Actually, the eye does a good job of filling in when light is lacking. No danger of falling in the ditch. No meeting with wild creatures either (despite my hopes). I mean, my life needs adventure.
Just for fun, I checked the price of a round trip across the nation, by rail. Hint: more than I thought/more than I can afford.
