A Big Lunar Moment
Good intentions, with the usual fallback. The whole family headed for the campground this morning, before breakfast. The goal: to take part in a fundraising meal. The result: we arrived too early, opted to make our contribution and beat a retreat. Lost along the way: the whole concept of eating. It matters little.
Once home, the dog decided we should wander. I augmented my team, and we went to new country, for me. Down the hill. There’s cottages in those woods, and we wanted to see what the tourist class had been doing all summer. Coupled with an extreme low tide, we moved from site to site, along the waterline, using the stairs designed for giants. I admit it; we also peeked into the tiny dwellings (go figure how the house and the access stairs are for two different body types), and finally ended up at the big cottage. Like an episode of Goldilocks…
The owner was in, so we turned from exploration to a social call. Interesting to see how those “off the grid” cope with the day-to-day. As a bonus, we were given carte blanche to come snowshoeing, at a later date.
Today, or more correctly, tonight is a Big Lunar Moment. An oversized (sic) sphere, in eclipse format. Right now, my camera is in a test mode, out on the deck. I head out, every few minutes, for an exposure. Shifting my view as I go, to be sure. As long as the clouds don’t form, this might be the highlight of the “stand outside and chill” season.
