A day of domestic bliss
Sleepy Saturday. The pancake breakfast didn’t last through a final edit of the family social calendar. Instead, the dog and I waved goodbye to a city-bound car, and settled in to a fun-filled day of domestic bliss.
So many possibilities. After careful consideration, the dog received a “move along” prompt, freeing the various sheets for a romp in the laundry. Next up, finding a sharp chisel and getting three passage sets installed downstairs. Nothing too challenging, other than trying to decide what to do with the packaged screws; undersized. Or was it the screw holes that were oversized? Whatever. I’ll get back to that task.
Today came with a promise of rainshowers. You know the drill: Raining. Is. Not. Is. Not. Until suppertime, when the spill went torrential. Happily, we need rain. Won’t know until tomorrow if the new planting withstood the wash. At one point (just before dark), it looked like we had planted rice.
Along with the moisture, we had steady floor vibration, from the local thunder system. That might be the only shock and awe show of the summer.
We’re still ahead of southern Alberta, where it snowed today.
I’ve installed one of those doorstops that rotate around the hinge pin. Only a matter of time before one of us forgets why it seemed necessary, and tries to push the door TOO FAR! Something else to revisit in a week or two.
I guess we’re getting some (more) new furniture. It does free up my studio desk. One more step in the right direction.
