I may be finally old

posted in environment |

It seemed so real! One of the dreams that slides into wakefulness, without the usual “forgot completely what it was about”. My blog had a whole new look. Photographically enhanced, very colourful, ready for the future. But by the time I started an online quest for a better theme, I realized just how tough it might be. There are hundreds and hundreds of efforts by others, and making a decision on what I need will require more than a wish.

Back to the boxes. More done, even more to do. Soon the floor will come into view… Not that bad, but close. A dumpster would be a great addition to the plan, methinks. Something with a wide throat.

Some weeks back, I offered my futon base to someone in need. Put everything aside for delivery, waited for word that the right time was at hand. Today, of course, the two little blocks that serve as “feet” were missing in action. And they will appear, as the level of unboxed stuff diminishes. There’s a message here, if I can just figure it out.

Seems I missed some big (expensive) boxing match, last evening. A pay-for-view extravaganza. The two names on the marquee meant nothing. Absolutely nothing. Time was, the press would have let me know the base story… not any more. Ditto for the hockey marathon. I might hear who gets fancy cup rings in a few weeks, but the rest has faded to background noise. I’m officially old. And not a minute too soon.
