He kept his promise
For all those who wish that politicians would keep their promises: be careful what you wish for. The Supreme Court has agreed that the long gun registry data (which we were told, over and over, cost AT LEAST a billion dollars) will be erased. Completely. Maybe today. The king prime minister promised his friends and followers that he would get rid of the hated symbol of oppression. One province appealed that there might still be something of use in the files, but the leader doesn’t agree. Now, that province will have to recollect the data. You see, the registry isn’t a bad thing. However, a promise is a promise. (Facepalm inserted here).
I had the chance to view some travel pics from India, this evening. Let the record show that the country has a lot of really old buildings, immaculately decked out in sculpture and colour. Not a single sheet of Gyproc was used. A clear sign that we won’t be demonstrating flattery through mimicry around here. Seriously, when you can walk up and touch something manmade, that is still solid after twelve centuries, you know you’re not in the fabled New World. We don’t dance to that music. Here I am, wondering if my new home will tough out my remaining years.
Finally made it to the newly refurbished hardware store (it’s been open for a week). I did purchase a certain number of LED bulbs, but their stock ran out before my desire to buy was satiated. I guess I’ll have to go back in a week to see if the stocked shelves were just a mirage.
