Snow fall reported

posted in politics, Wx |

Let me begin with a wagging finger and a frown. To the local gasoline outlets, who saw fit to raise prices by thirteen cents per litre today, even as the price of crude continues to spiral down. You are “all about that greed”!

My morning opened with distracting coverage of a really impressive snow storm on the east coast. What with web and tweets and streamed radio, the amount of OMG is substantial. Any time a system dumps sixty-seven centimetres of light white, and then whisks the world with high winds, it offers some wonderful photographic opportunities; later, of course. In the heart of the moment, visibility drops belows variable. I’m not close enough to need my shovel, although my heart wishes I was…

The first of the big names has resigned from the federal cabinet. Still too early to announce a departure of the long-tailed class from he ship, but one can hope. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to hold an election with a whole slate of new faces?

I’ve been put on notice: framing a mirror will be a necessary life skill, real soon now. Mitred corners. Stain that matches the other woodwork in the room. Best get reading, because my last round of proper shop techniques goes back to the last century, and shellac is not available in my local box store. Thankfully, sandpaper still comes with a rough and a smooth surface, so I can get the right side right.

Anyhow, back to more relaxed activities; don’t want to go to bed tired.
