A trite question
Today, more boxes were filled. I’m working with things that have (only) intrinsic value, but each piece requires reflection.
It goes beyond the trite question “Have you used this in the last few years”. Of course not; this is the archival collection, and a particular photo or newspaper clipping or toy missed disposal because there was something unique involved. Should I discard? I’ll think about it… later.
There’s dust, and probably a few spores in the air; what doesn’t kill me, etc. The shelving in the basement is coming down, a slice at a time, and the space will soon cry out for a bit of wallboard and paint.
Meanwhile, the living room couch has another collection of boxes in sort, and dog is upset. HIS space isn’t free, and to watch the wander from one floor quadrant to another is almost sad. Almost. He gets a pretty easy ride most of the time; losing the comfortable couch for a few hours is not that big a deal (from a human perspective).
The dollar continues to devalue against other currencies, and the future fir cross-border shoppers is troubled. We’re back where we were in the days before Amazon and eBay. I don’t really need anything right now, pso I’m detached from the stress felt by others.
On TV, a “state of the union” address, in translation. Not much of value for those north of the “great divide”. From what I understand, this is the prelude to yet another presidential run up… Years to go before anyone does anything other than pontification.
