Model the past and the present
For the last couple of days, I’ve been learning how to use one of those 3D floor plan packages. Needed to; there’s a new house that cries out for exploration. Virtual if necessary. and so, after careful consideration of a line drawing we received from the “house factory”, I put together a reasonable model.
Which took me to the next level: drawing someplace I had already lived. Like my university residence. Still some brain farts, but here’s a look at what an hour and some good coffee allowed.
That’s half of my floor… the other end wasn’t different enough for me to show here.
Today marks the start of another season of American Idol. The 14th. Impressive for a series that the critics declare dead and buried, year after year. Definite signs of maturity: better opening sequences, keeping the same judges/mentors, a move away from the Gong Show atmosphere of auditions. It’s early, but I’ll keep an eye on the evolving star list.
That is, assuming access. We will move during the season, and change from a familiar cable feed to the new world of satellite TV. I called the supplier, this morning, to get a feel for the timeline. Bell is the only game in town; despite the critical opinions of so many others, I won’t have a choice…
Happily, this is a quiet time of year for the new client acquisition office, and the install could be completed within a week of my committal. Rules on package lock-in have changed, and we can use an adaptive strategy in choosing “the package”.
