Repack and travel

posted in environment, travel |

The odds of getting everything back into the cargo area of our car diminish after a single night’s pause. Multiply the pause tenfold, and imagine me this morning. Two of those hi-rail carts used by “great hotels everywhere”; the dog still risked getting bumped for lack of space.

Maybe the printer and MIDI keyboard was too much… Anyhow, the rear gate of the vehicle did close, with complaint, and the dog rode a little higher for the final eastbound leg.

Another stop at a house store; this time we might have a winner in the game. Less flash equals a more rational price point, and the seller (younger brother of a former student) believes that our add-ons won’t break the budget. We’ll stop back by, early in the week, and attempt to put the sort of round summed number that pleases bankers. It could see us packing boxes before the onslaught of dirty weather.

With all that to ponder, we headed to the campground, paid for a month and pitched the (new) tent. Shiny! Without blemish!

The dog and I crossed the slope of rocky rubble and visited the stretch of beach that will be ours for the next while. The dog was fascinated. I followed, and bagged his enthusiastic efforts. Humans and dogs. Symbiotic.

In town my attempt to log in and blog was rebuffed by the Timmy’s corporate firewall. Without an email account active on the iPad, my only alternative was to eat my pastries and wait for friendlier wifi access.
And the roads are full of rabbits.
