Eating in the open air

posted in food, travel |

Another day, another utility question and answer session. This time, I received a quick course on the needs for a proper waste water installation. Not rocket science, but better left to the experts. Trying this at home could lead to unsatisfactory results…

As far as my percent test score, 1 is better than 5. I may have to do some flips and flops with placement of wells and weeping tiles, to allow the “honey wagon” timely access. The size is predicated by the number of beds and not the number of stalls. The estimated cost runs somewhere north of $5k. And I will have to shop locally.

With all my newfound knowledge, it was time to buy gas. Big moment in a day that began with my purchasing twenty-four assorted muffins for a demonstration of a particular birthday song (not my birthday, so I didn’t share in the bounty).

Among today’s goals there was also “leaving the room for long enough that housekeeping could keep”; I did and so did they. And then there was the amusement of taking the dog on a slightly longer campus tour. We haven’t been asked not to…

Finally, a sit down meal in a restaurant. Sort of: we were out on the patio at Casa Mia, and the owner treated the pooch to a dish of water.  There was free music (Texas style blues) from over across the block, and we were out and out in good time.  Summer in the city, with horse jitneys and a bicycle rickshaw.
