While away the hours
A first day of classes (for someone else). I did my best to give example; up early, ate a hearty breakfast, loaded up and made the four minute ride to campus. And then, my buddy and I tried to find ways to kill time.
The problem is that my buddy doesn’t talk much. Other than an occasional yelp followed by a nose butt, I have to go on guesswork. And so we tested the standard dog attractions. Down to the Boardwalk in the park; aptly named as I got bored while we walked. Dogs have a different agenda.
Shift left. Down by the yacht club and Celebration Zone, where people tried to restore order to wind-tipped displays. Not much to do here, either.
Cross over and get the oh-so-necessary cinnamon buns before returning to the room. Two hours down and six more to go. The rest of the afternoon was a sleepy blur, where nothing at all happened other than a room card swap out. Something to do with our start/stop reservation dates.
The decision to return to campus and read allowed me to be on site and early for passenger recovery. I did visit a house store, twice, getting a feel for what the “other brand” had to offer. Strong points for kitchen and laundry areas, less for tiny washrooms and the assurance that anything could be added. Ain’t so, if you have any sense of budget.
Shopping for a new house isn’t supposed to be easy…
Tomorrow I will have to evolve this vacation thing, just a little. Maybe a walk in the rain.
