Finally cosmetic correct composure
There we go. Based on comparative value, if yesterday was good, today was better. From the top of the first hour, to the bottom of the last, my day at work was pleasantly calm. Very little need from “the needy”, and no sudden emergencies. This is the end of the school year, and the halls are now empty. Ready for wax and whatever.
My meeting with HR was on time and orderly; after thirty minutes the forms were mine, to submit to the pension gnomes. All the dates and amounts were properly printed, and my “submit before the deadline” will be done. In fact, the envelope with the blank cheque made post pickup this evening. On to the next step.
My cubicle is clean, and picture perfect. See:
After all the snide remarks, and the (almost) direct order to put my place into cosmetically correct composure, I did so. Lots of recycling. And to make MY point, I took this picture and posted it on a wall. This goes beyond illusion. With less than two months to do, there is little reason for any more mess.
Although most of the gang were on short hours, we were still three at the closing bell. A discussion about how to get a passport promptly made a proper closing bracket, and then I caught the bus home. No need to do that for the rest of the summer.
In fact, my alarm clock has been relegated to the bottom of a drawer, and my bus pass will run out in a matter of days. No renewal intended until the fall.
