Awaiting the Idol
Another end of season Grand Slam. Not hockey. Not politics. American Idol season XIII will be over in about 100 minutes. And to be fair, the wrap is always spectacular. Almost Sullivan “Really Big Show” spectacular. The showcase for various didn’t win contestants is fun, but J-Lo just blew out their candles. A distracting moment, when I’m trying to write.
At work, the youth (that’s everyone else in my section), seem suitably impressed by a posted graphic. The “who will be out on what dates this summer” graphic. The one where I OWN the thing.

News break. In Bracebridge, Mayor Rob Ford’s Caddy has been seized, with a drunk driver. Not him. More hilarity ensues. I don’t think you could write a book with as much slapstick. I do think someone will.
I’m subscribing to a magazine (SoundOnSound) on the iPad, and wondered how it worked when the second month begins. Now I know; the new issue politely offers to add itself to the virtual bookshelf. No more walking in the rain, or snow to see if the new issue might be in. Cool.
In the news(paper), a list of the clerical rotations on the Island. I’ll admit it; something I have never seen anywhere else. Good to know who’s up front, when you wander in to an unfamiliar church, some sunny Sunday.
