Before the sun sets

posted in politics, science |

Possessing power (political or financial) seems to be akin to a disease. When you have both; I’d prefer not to go there. However, this election campaign just revealed the first “name candidate”, and it’s a whopper. In control of too much of the media, sitting on the board of important organizations, someone now wants the minor orders that go with “winning” a seat. Is winning like buying?

Whatever happens, this is just a stepping stone on the way to something bigger. The rest of us will have to suffer in silence. Or face the lawyers. No name dropping here.

Yesterday, I forwarded our first edits on a viable floor plan for a house. Today, the man in charge got back to me. Although the space between some of the stuff in bath #1 are a bit tight, he’ll submit the proposal to engineering for their take on things. I remain hopeful. After all, if we can get what we want rather than what is offered on the company website, it will be a win for all.

The clocks changed last night, and here I am with supper finished, the groceries done, writing while the sun is still shining. This is what keeps one sane on the long road to summer. I’ll accept the inconvenience of leaving for work under cover of darkness, knowing that all will soon be made right in the universe.

And this post puts me on the high side of three thousand consecutive creations. That’s what they are. Not just scribbles, or traces in the sand. Not quite a book, but a well-crafted facsimile.
