Visual double-double
It’s over. The best poster I’ve spotted mentions that all-Canadian term ‘Double Double’. And now we can return to regularly scheduled broadcasts.
Of course, with a return to our own lives, we have to accept that the pace may be slower. Things like going for groceries, or serving a plate of whatever for supper, or letting the dog out (and in, and out, and in) are things that we handle well. Years of practice, just like those that wear branded jerseys. We even try to better our own times; it’s part of the culture.
After careful searching, I found the perfect piece of wood for my monitor support. A cutting board. Unless I decide to run things through the dishwasher, or beat on one side with a mallet (both unlikely), a $3 slab of some unknown hardwood will serve well. No big rush to get things together, but my design phase is over.
It required an Access To Information request, but someone managed to get a copy of an internal government report that shows something many suspected. The middle class is not doing so well in spite of all those upbeat ads by the Tar Sands Party (not the official title, but if the shoe fits…). We’re not earning more, despite long hours, and our tax load continues to climb. The expression “living pay to pay” describes the “living day to day” of the silent majority. No wonder I want to get out and start living on a fixed income, as irrational as that sounds.
