Trying to be more accurate in analysis
Another distracting afternoon. Eye pain, mostly, but there’s little I can do about that. Taking an aspirin and going to bed isn’t the panacea it once was (although the going to be part still helps).
I’ve completed week four of my curious online course, wherein two audio clips are played and I’m asked to make very detailed observations about the dB loss, or the ms delay, or other characteristics that are shown on electronic meters in real life. Let’s face it, the human was replaced by technology because we aren’t very good at that kind of analysis. Despite the premise of the instructor, you can’t be eartrained into that skill set. I picked up a 70% on this week’s quiz… pure luck. Last week I was down at the 20% point for a similar (but different) exercise. It doesn’t matter; this is just a for the fun of it course. Pity that the fun part escapes me, one month in.
Watching more of the Scotties, as the teams play through to a final game tomorrow. The competition will be one-sided, as the “Team Canada” foursome made it through the round robin portion undefeated. Rare! Eleven games in line; right up there with an undefeated World Series in another domain.
Still trying to convince son #3 that he needs to aim higher in his search for a career. Minimum wage is exactly that; you can’t make a life based on intentional hardship. He doesn’t know what he wants to do, so he figures that anything is better than nothing… yes, I guess…
