Too many butterflies for my taste
Just what I feared; after almost two weeks “on vacation”, the whole return to my cubicle trip is not appealing to me. That PWE (Protestant Work Ethic) isn’t as strong as other instincts, and I could join the dog on the couch without any sense of guilt. The lack of income might bother him (his bag of kibble is nearly empty), but he’d have a friend at hand.
The car started without difficulty this morning, when I went for milk and other essentials. Sure, there was a bit of a grumble. The dash thermometer did show -30C, and the “real” temperature based on my skin sensors was lower still, but once again the mighty Nissan pulled through. Haven’t plugged in the block heater in years.
Is there a rule that no matter what format I choose for the Playbook, in video playback, it will refuse me? Had to plug the real computer in to the TV, and hope that the dog wouldn’t dance on the keyboard all afternoon. As proof of my sense of restraint, I did not run out to a box store and purchase some other tablet computer, just because it was offered in that enticing full-colour flyer I found in the circular sack. I should recycle those things immediately, to avoid moments of expensive desire.
Watched a documentary about famous butterflies in a forest. The only thing I could think about was how creeped out I would be to spend time with several million bugs. No future as an entomologist. The clincher came when the narrator told us that it was cold down there (in Mexico). Have that climate feature right here; no need to go elsewhere.
