Three Rock references

posted in media, photography, politics |

Sorry I missed it. There were byelections yesterday. Although the results were predictable (this is Canada), the victory speech wasn’t. JET (the son of PET) quoted “Jack” during his political Address To A Haggis. Gasp! For the record, Justin used some memorable quotes from the belated Mr. Layton, thereby ensuring  that the members of the Orange tribe will not vote for the Red tribe any time soon. Not that they were going to. But in politics, the offended nature is more important than the actual content.

This has been a memorable week for CBC and the Rock. Last night, Murdoch Mysteries went to Signal Hill in the company of Allan Hawco. This evening, Rick Mercer visited the set of Murdoch Mysteries. Tomorrow, Allan/Jake (not Jack) will be at home, just down the hill from the Hill, on Republic of Doyle. A hat trick.

Time to recommend a YouTube moment (without a link). Look for The Collie Walk. I intend to play it, over and over, for my hairy halfwit, to see if he can learn to do the moves. Think “Walk Like An Egyptian” with a tail.

Trying to decide if my negatives (already forty years out of date) deserve to be scanned and brought forward into the new century. From what I read, I’ll require more time than I spent in the original camera-carrying life, with an addition of some new equipment. Hard call. Who do you call? I’m convinced that most of the people in the hazy half world of old photos would prefer that I get a new hobby.
