Switched on coffee
Interesting day. In Ottawa, Big Mike has decided to talk about Big Steve (little honour among thieves, according to Psalms something or other). In the garden of the Apple, the new OS is out there, and I’ve installed my first copy without untoward injury. And my coffee machine switch came in the afternoon mail, installed in two minutes and now we’re back to regular espresso. Life is good.
The OS update is more than 5 GB in size; happily, a quick search of user forums showed how to save the blog and use it again. The installation was simple, but I’ll have to pay $20 for a new copy of Server. I know; I don’t need to install it, but I’d hate to wait and find that the price had obeyed the rules of inflation.
Had a productive morning at work. The pile of laptops is now smaller and faster, due to a decision to share SIMMs more equally. Had to reimage to 64-bit Windows 7, but I can do that sort of thing in my sleep. Nice to get the job off the list on day 1. Now come the hours of setting up for individual “clients”. Hey, only eight more work weeks until Xmas. They should fly by.
Might be time to find my “polar” coat liner and boots. The temperatures are teasing me. No snow flurries, yet.
After watching certain drivers at lunchtime, I think there’s a different class of license for some. In my course, a pair of signs marked “DO NOT ENTER” are not an invitation to proceed.
Well, guess I’ll go and put the dishes into “the place where water sprays in all directions”. And check that I’m ready for a meal prep, this time tomorrow. All in a week in my life.
