Streamlining the pastry list

posted in food, pets |

As the dog does wind sprints in the living room, complete with over-table leaps and tight corner turns, I realize that he is more athletic than me. More than I’ve ever been, including one summer in high school, Guess that goes under the heading “the nature of the beast”.

We’re facing “the wall”, wherein we have to do some salutary house cleaning, or hang our heads in shame. Still have a few hours left, but little inspiration.

I’m officially tired of reformatting old laptops. Despite my TLC, a certain number are going to leave on the back of a truck. Recycled for the cause.

And the Costa Concordia has been redressed, in anticipation of being broken. A lot of interest in the press, given that nobody knew just how a job like that could be done. It’s really hard to drag something that huge, out of the water, when you are on the water. There’ll be a special on one of the high cable channels, sometime in the future, and I’ll figure it out. Thanks to the animation. And coloured drawings. DId I mention that I really like a series called Strip The City? That’s where they roll back the sidewalks in a way that small towns never seem to achieve. Roll back, not roll up. It’s a subtle difference.

Get ready for a change, Canada. The new CEO of Timmy’s wants to streamline the menu. Reduce the variety. Speed up the service at the drive-thru (that’s my hope). I worry that the apple fritter could disappear. Or, worse, the dutchie. OK, now I’m worried!
