Finding wrapping
Thankfully, the postal era is almost over. Because, as it turns out, sending stuff from here to there is difficult. Not for the commercial enterprise, with a full logistical model in place for delivery; for the rest of us, stuck in a campground with an oversized object.
Yesterday, we purchased something that has to get home in a pristine state. Unfortunately, the shop deals with clients who wish to cash and carry. No boxes in the back room (no back room, actually). Some bubble wrap, but that was it. We arranged to pay (the cash part of the equation). The carry part would be later in the week.
And hop; off to shop for packing materials. The post office had some small boxes for sale; too small. The bottle store had some boxes that could be cut and formed into a rough approximation of the size we need. The hardware store had knives and tape, necessary no matter what else happened. Next stop, the city.
One office supply store had a variety of folded boxes; we took the largest. I was distracted by the display of ultrabook computers, though not to the point of spending money. The box to be is now folded in the rear of the car, waiting for warmer and drier weather.
Enough of that. What you really came here to read is the food review. Today, we bought takeout chicken, and headed for the park. Rain and thunder made life entertaining, and the dog was enthralled with the little dinner roll. The fries, not so much.
