Strategy for a rainy evening

posted in travel |

At least with the dog alarm, the odds of seeing and saying goodbye to those who leave the campground early is increased. Yesterday, Louise.  Today, Louis and Diane. Tomorrow; too early to tell. I’m sure that the dog and I will be out there, watching the sun rise over the edge of the campground.

Today, breakfast was long and leisurely, after we decided to go in to the Evergreen Café. Good coffee and a great soundtrack, although a playlist would have been nice. Smartphone apps can’t identify everything. About the point where some concert tickets were being ordered online, along came an old roomie who is living the life of an expat in China. Not a civil service existence, but we all make our choices. He likes his.

This was also an afternoon to drive about, after we had checked into the possibility of purchasing a pair of pies (it didn’t happen) and sitting by the seashore gorging on heady calories. I did score some good cookies.

The afternoon continued, and we did spend some time in the shops in St. Peter’s, before circling around to Naufrage for another meal. Whatever else happens on vacation, the meals are regular (and good).

The weather turned to steady rain, so I decided to sit in the car and start on my two week collection of videos for the current online course. Entertaining fare, perhaps a little light on nutrition, but enough to bring me back later this week (I’m running behind my schedule). And since the moon is still down, I’m going to tread carefully through the puddles while I get within range of the Internet feed.
