Non-trad holiday menu

posted in food |

If you’ve wet a line (think fishing), at some point you go to draw in, and there’s resistance, and then there isn’t. And usually, you need to find a new hook and srart again. This afternoon, when the dog went into barking overdrive at passersby, I drew in the lead. And found an empty collar at the termination. Not good. Although a search team went out (we had an extra dog to assist), their efforts were fruitless. The dog, of his own accord, had come home to bark at anyone arriving (including the seekers).

I watched the movie Tron Legacy this afternoon. Not for the first time. With each iteration, I understand a little more of the storyline. Could this be another in those movies that I just don’t get? Like The Matrix… Anyhow, with surround sound, Olivia and some really decent graphics, this one deserves further research.

Working my way through some of the newer Clancy novels. Say what you will, his character development is reasonable, and the whole storyline stands the test. I’m not a weekend warrior, or a spy at heart; books like this feed that need.

Looks like another ebook reader will join the virtual library around here. The addition of a backlit screen is important to those who read through the night in a tent. No, not me.

What to do about the holiday meal? I could go for something like this:

Two hens

but that was a recent effort. How about skipping the “trad” menu, and opting for diners’ choice. Something with a required effort to get to the meat of the matter:

The Ribs
