Ahead of the worklist
With a quiet afternoon, devoid of interruptions, I’m managed to put another set of assignments away. Week five of six in my online course, and I’m on top of things. It does come back, like riding a bicycle. As a plus, I can claim that my knowledge set is larger than before. There’s satisfaction, in taking on a new challenge and winning a bet with myself. Nobody else has to care; this is all about my self-perception.
Is anyone else bothered by those new government ads? Since when did we become the pipeline champions of the planet? Once upon a time, we actually weighed the environmental dangers involved. Royal Commissions, if you will. Under the new masters, the country has sold its soul to an industry that has shown how to mess up the nest. Saying that “it’s good for you”, over and over again, rings false.
Had an invitation from one of my sisters to “jump in the car” and “come over for a visit”. If I may, the road runs both ways.
Small mark on the drummer’s calendar: one of the Zildjian brothers has died. If you don’t recognize the name, it doesn’t matter. If you do, it does.
And a quiet time ensued. No pressing duties (cleaned the oven yesterday). No need to be amywhere for another couple of days (love this whole long weekend concept). The health is good, the days are growing longer, and the danger of a relapse into winter is miniscule. I think I’ll stay up an hour longer this evening, just because.
