What should I timeshift

posted in pets, travel |

The family is in crisis avoidance mode. What to do, this evening, given that the Oscars are on at exactly the same time as Republic of Doyle? There’s a PVR that I don’t know how to use, which will permit storing one of the two for timeshifted play. Shall we vote? Too early to call, but the Oscars will probably get the nod for the broadcast slot, given the time sensitive nature of their content. No fun to watch after reading the results in the local newspaper.

Republic of Doyle (in Brigus), on the other hand, was filmed last September, so the fine weather would only serve as a disorientation. I’ll watch it, later. Not tonight, but before too many more evenings have gone by. Be all caught up for next week. The choices we have to make, sometimes.

Brought the loaner dog over for the afternoon. She’s been shorn, which meant that I had to warm up the car AND provide a wrapper. Not the way I picture a real dog being treated. To further confuse, she was just as anxious to be outside in snow over her head as the other fellow. Guess that the risk to her comfort was exaggerated by others.

Watched an excellent episode of Thalassa this afternoon, with special focus on the western reaches of France. Sort of a mirror version of Newfoundland. Lots of great scenery, and a population that is dropping, as people move away to find real jobs. Could be the story of eastern Canada, with a change of a few place names.  Anyhow, I’d be interested in spending a few days on l’Ile de Ouessant, should the moment arise.
