Picking cookies by the flavour
When parents go out to buy cookies for their kids, how do they pick the flavour? When I was a kid, exotic meant those round ones with red jam inside. Nowadays, the flavour of the week is more apt to be “Irish cream”. Which one is (or should be) an acquired taste for the four year old in the house? And don’t give me the line that these are adult cookies…
Started watching a train movie from the early ’70s (Emperor Of The North) this afternoon, but I was too distracted by the sight of Ernest Borgnine speaking (dubbed) French. He barely spoke English! Still, I’l like to watch the movie from start to finish, just for the rolling stock. When did cattle cars have reefer hatches in the roof? With locks, to keep the crazy climbing cows in their place? Yes, it was confusing. And as for firefighting… bug sprayers and towels, against a hay blaze? So many questions, left unanswered.
Transportation TV, all day. Shipping Wars, where Jen bids against Silver Jesus for the right to carry crawfish cross-country in an open pickup in summertime. Seriously. I’m sure that a lot of silly stuff happens in the world of moving people’s stuff around, but this show will jump the shark any day now. There is even an online store to purchase stuff; things like T-shirts and mugs. I’d go, if I thought the delivery would involve a show regular. How cool would that be?
I’ve purchased my upgrade license for Windows 8. At $17, via Paypal, it was too easy to refuse.
Finally, it turns out that there is a serious health risk associated with exercise. I knew it! From here on in, I’m playing safe.
