That girl has a deficit of some sort

posted in environment, media |

The drought of Paris sightings is over. In other news… wait, according to CNN and Fox, there is no other news.

We’re in the middle of a series of thunderstorms this evening. Actually, there’s been noisy skies all day long, and we had a couple of power bumps at work and at home. That hasn’t happened in years. At work, it meant that the servers kept on serving, but the poor clients in their tiny offices had to wait through a reboot and the requisite data loss. If you’ve just composed the perfect memo, and it disappears, does that mean the planet has shifted on its axis? I thought so.

At home, the Apollo 13 team were (in dubbed VHS) in that crucial three minutes of radio silence as they began the descent through the earth’s atmosphere. The tape stopped, so I don’t know if they made it. Poor Forrest/the guy with the soccer ball/famous astronaut. Everything seems to get messed up when you’re around. Now you are stranded in a hurtling capsule, and it’s been over an hour. Hang in there, dude!

The dog is worried about the loud noises outside, and we’ve gone three times to the front doorstep, where she stands in the rain and (I guess) does weather observations. Do dogs have a MANOBS?

Supper was an odd mishmash of Chinese noodles with Mexican ground beef and Mergues sausages. I love the way my children will adapt to any old oddball meal, if they’ve been home all day and are hungry.
