Another resolution on my list
After watching the news documentary on one of our major prisons, I’ve just added another resolution to my list: don’t go to jail. Instead, pass Go and pick up the $200.
Got out with the (only available) kid this afternoon to try stringing a few lights in the linden tree. It’s very hard to visualize the end effect, when your eyes are shut due to the the bright sunlight and the cold wind. We pushed the strands up, fully aware that a passing wind will rearrange our effort without consultation. At least the bulbs all glowed on command (LED technology), and after the festive season we’ll pack ‘er all away again.
That passing wind might come sooner than expected, if the promise of a winter storm holds up. I’m like any other kid; a snow day is part of the benefit of life in the true North (take that, residents of Maine).
My plan B (a normal trip to the cubicle) remains, but plan A would be cool!
Part of my assigned workload for the afternoon was to compile an address list for certain family and acquaintances. Even with the Internet as my wingman, some people aren’t “publically traded”. Go ahead: try to get the street address for someone who lives in the country, or a phone number for someone that has changed their name with their marital status. A challenge, unless you want to go on FB and ask them directly. That would take all the fun out of the task, and leave them expecting packages (instead of the anonymous thought of a seasonal greeting card).
