Selling off the foundation to your house
Out to get some air today. The stuff in cans. With what it costs, be glad that you get the breathing kind for free.
During the same trip, I purchased a new lead for the dog. Not a chain; more akin to a clothes line, without the pulleys and poles. Wrapped it high up on the tree in the front yard, so that we’ll still be able to find it after a month or so of accumulated snow. The dog is hopeless at the task. Suggest fetching the hook, and he just stares at me. Come on puppy – the whole thing is for you.
And since Saturday is the “watch a rerun movie on cable TV day”, I settled for the Brangelina version of “Mr and Mrs Smith“. After you get past the pseudo violence, the movie does have some great lines. The ones I won’t feature here; you should just watch the movie, already. You know you want to.
I’m at a loss. Back when the government of Canada negotiated the NAFTA, it took years of effort. There were winners and losers (hint: I didn’t get any richer). Now, the government of Harper has cut some kind of deal to allow Chinese ownership of certain (previously) important resources. I’m with the pundits on this one. The deal will come back to bite us right where we sit. In the cold. In the dark. OK, less in the cold, because that whole global warming thing is ramping up nicely. Turns out that the Arctic is a huge carbon sink, and we’re about to get some CO2 right where we don’t need it.
