The forum is noisy, nothing more

posted in food, Wx |

I’m backed into a corner. My weather station and my telephone can’t communicate, even though I’ve checked my server and tested my uploads. A lot of “my” in there, for very little in return.

Somebody has developed an app (that’s the word for anything that fits in the palm of your hand, it seems) which is supposed to display real time information from the gear on a pole out back. The mechanism is complex, but the intention is simple. I installed the app, but no joy for this boy. Off to the support forum; after 29 pages and growing of input from the developer and a gaggle of geese… I’m simply confused.

The forum is noisy. Everyone talking at once, on a dozen of different planes. There are those, like me, who can’t get XML to cooperate. There are those who can. Put everyone in a large virtual room and turn up the virtual volume. I tried to sort out the hints from the high fives. Restarted the server software (over and over again). Reinstalled the app (as if that would change something). And now I’m back with a bowl of munchies, keeping the dog amused. The weather app will have to wait for another time.

It would seem that the dog likes corn chips. More than me. Every time I stop feeding the hunger, a paw hits me, with gentle but ever so annoying claw caresses. I know; I should just hand him the bowl and then beg. My claws are too short to be effective. Are corn chips good for the dog? Are they good for anyone? Is this how OGM will ruin the world?
