The intense version of life – two dogs in one house
Given that we are trying to keep two dogs in a relative state of calm (relative is relative), and the oversight by all involved concerning purchases of packages candy, this is a lights out kind of evening. You see, there may be people in disguise going door to door, and if our house looks boring, they may pass by. So far, only one knock, so the plan is working.
The whole neighbourhood seems to have rethought the annual open door policy. Almost no decorations. A generalized lights out appearance. The bit that all of our own kids have grown up and moved along (generally). We have taken back the night. Next year, the policy can be analyzed anew.
I’m currently very interested by the growth in SDR technology. For a few hundred dollars, one can own a “state of the art” receiver, and spend the evening surfing the waterfall. I’m not sure (how much I should spend), but the shopping part satisfies a psychological need. I now know bits and pieces about quadrature and I and Q. (I confess, I recognize these terms as being part of basic SDR vocabulary) I am getting good at clicking on the waterfall, over at websdr.org
I’m going to move along, before I embarrass myself.
Did I mention that there are two dogs vying for attention (when they aren’t snoring or passing dog gas)? Comedy, cheap. Last night, the attempt to hold the high ground (or was it the floor mat at the summit) kept us awake for hours, until the dogs went back to, (you guessed it) snoring and passing dog gas.
