My pie is on back order

posted in media |

Among  the things I learned today: one of the money guys from “Dragons’s Den” used to be a Mountie. And a wrestler. Funny how we move from job to job, eh what? That eh is Canadian (eh).

Unpacked a new printer/fax/scanner today, for one of the other departments. Too much of a stretch from floor to platen  to fit their current counter space. They have two options: hire taller staff, or move some filing cabinets. Wonder which will take less effort? Actually, putting in a multitasking machine seems to be good business practice, except from where I sit. When (not if) it malfunctions, they’re really going to be sidelined.

The moment of anticipatory euphoria (over ordering some Raspberry Pi) has faded. Blame it on the order update, which bragged that the plastic case has shipped, but the board is on backorder. When I filled in the form yesterday, there were one hundred in stock. Did I have a moment of synchronicity with more than a planeload of geeks? And why didn’t my order go through? The site did brag that it was Canadian (eh). Should have known.

Mansbridge goes Gangnam.

Moving right along. No, I don’t dance. Not even in the shower.

How is it that the CBC can segue from decent content (Stroumboulopuolos) to Coronation Street. Without warning. For the record, I don’t have to to watch a half-century of back episodes to figure out the story line. How many box sets would that be? Someone just hinted that there isn’t a story line, which is why it doesn’t go away.
