What makes a theme into a theme?
Just caught the new Adele song, that’s destined as a Bond theme. How does that work. There was no doubt; this is a valid Bond number, and that would mean that someone wrote the music (and lyrics, I suppose) with one goal – inclusion on the next Bond Gold Themes album. Does this mean that there is a style? Why didn’t I learn about it, back in music history class?
I listen to a lot of recorded music, and yes, Virginia, there are genres. Predates the Galaxie channels. Do we group tunes, or do the grouped tunes simply become familiar? So confusing. Doesn’t involve the instrumentation, or the tempo, or the “mode”; what does it involve, exactly? Do I have to return to the classroom (as an attentive student) to get a response, or can I simply Google my way to an elucidated state of being?
Going through some glitchy behavior with the utility software (furnished with the cell phone of my choice). For a short while, things went well, and I was making regular backups of my data. Now, nada. Did the usual uninstall/reinstall dance? No joy. Is this the kind of existence other users face, or am I caught on my own special level of Hell?
The whole new arena sage continues. Now that wood has been upstaged by steel, there are a whole industrial strength set of offended virgins. The mayor knows nothing (he who was so proud of his wood committment now thinks steel is shiny). Do we actually pay to suffer this level of idiocy? The arean will be built, at huge cost overruns, and the imaginary hockey team will remain…
