How about a pie-based PBX?
Go to work, in the rain. Come home from work, in the rain. Around this time of the season, snow starts to seem like a really good alternative to the urban transit user. Yes, the bus is on time. So am I. The time from the house to the stop is invariable. Did I mention that I hate umbrellas?
If I told you that both of my important coax feeds now enter the basement (the window is no longer an option), would you care? Didn’t think so. Still a small issue with one connector, but I’m unwilling to spend any more time in the basement this evening. There are other projects on the table top, but I’m not keen to get at them either. Lethargy.
I read that the Raspberry Pi has just been upgraded, to 512 MB. Last time around, you had to put your name on a waiting list and hope to be considered. Now, you just go online, place the order and wait for UPS to drop off the (tiny) box. Same price, better product. How often does that happen? And so I’m going to learn another platform. Some (other) crazy has a fully functional PBX running on one, and that interests me. My Asterisk play was enough to see me designated as the VOIP guy in the office. Now, I can have the same “hours of fun” at home. Time to find a cheap interface box (already have a brand name and model to Google). Imagine, voicemail, for me.
Supper involved reheated potatoes and ham bum. You had to be there…
