Good football, but it has thrown my internal calendar for a loop
My internal clock is off by a whole day. Had to check the newspaper banner to make sure. I’ll lay blame with this afternoon’s football game (wherein the Rouge et Or proved to the upstart Carabins where the dynasty lives). What should be a Saturday activity, on a Sunday. You can understand my confusion.
Our house now owns TWO Blackberry Playbooks. My own way of supporting Canadian technology, at a time where they seem to have lost their (true) north. The wife claims she is under represented here; this is a thank you to her for noticing the great price and acting upon it while out playing taxi-Mom. For the record, she is loved and appreciated, and it has nothing to do with presents and everything to do with her resilience. To what? I’m not going to hang out my dirty laundry here (it’s already piling nicely in a corner of the room).
My tiny SDR radio project is ready for testing; I completed the final solder connections a few minutes ago. When I start the software, there is noise. Nothing intelligible, but the antenna is absent. A piece of short wire might work for VHF, but the 40 M band requires something better. Tomorrow.
Today, the question was raised (by the wife – this is her second mention in the same post… a trend emerging) about how much of our furniture will move to the next QTH. I haven’t given it much thought. Starting over is fun, but only for furniture merchants. I’ve grown to appreciate the solid maple pieces that provide stopping points when I wander with my eyes (wide) shut. Not a movie reference.
