Tread with care
We had really good club sandwiches for lunch. Not big news in a world context, but these sandwiches contained properly bacon (hence the name bacon, and not fryon), some BBQ chicken, fresh tomato from a local garden, mayo with olive oil… need I continue? The local restaurants aren’t going to match that sort of fare any time soon.
The two dogs have been sharing space all day, without conflict. Better than some children. I did notice that the whole “going outside now” thing wasn’t an issue. Fear of missing something, I guess. Club sandwich anxiety?
Watched another episode of the “we remove old bombs” show on cable. Given the distinctly Canadian content, and the fact that the “clearance” jobs are exactly what young people get suckered into as a way to earn money, I’m voting this one as a keeper. Educational stuff for caring (and careful) parents. Besides, who knew the military were so incompetent at policing their own mess? Oh, everyone but me? Well, I’m watching now.
In NYC, today, a tornado swept in from sea and damaged a shore neighbourhood. If this sounds like a scenario for science fiction, it’s because of the bizarre content in the storyline. Tornado activity doesn’t come ashore – heck, it doesn’t happen anywhere near the shore, from all the folklore I’d absorbed. Guess I’m now appraised that things are changing on the weather channel. Meanwhile, the folks in NL are still watching two hurricanes that are approaching the area. Will either, or both, come ashore? Will they combine. Batten down the hatches and watch for the two red square flags with black square symbols to fly on Signal Hill.
