Availability of maps for the old school
As we’re forced to move from 32-bit to 64-bit versions of our favourite software, I lift my virtual hat to the gang at Google. Today, they released an 8-bit version of Google Maps, for the cohort of “old technology”. Here’s the view of the Maritimes.
The Chateau Frontenac is planning to “renew” their landmark roof in the next year, at an estimated cost of $ 6.6 million. Coincidentally, the government budget announced the gradual abandon of the penny, long a major user of copper in the nation. One way to assure the stock of Cu remains available for renovation projects.
Speaking to the budget, there seems to be no measure aimed at financing newly shorn puppies. This morning, I awoke to a bristly footwarmer… I’m sure she was hiding under our bedclothes because of the thermal shock from a recent haircut.
For the record, she is a Cocker Spaniel, not a long-eared Labrador. The haircut is just to confuse the enemy.
CBC website is carrying (yet) another story about the continuing Republican primaries. Please, file these stories under “waste of time”. The current president is the next president (you heard it here first), and we in the North do not care a whit for the infighting of the also-rans. Come back in four years, when there might be a contest to discuss with our friends and family.
The only show of interest on TV this evening will be the Junos, where we can watch the presentation of a small fraction of the awards. What’s that all about?
