One toy leads to another

posted in media |

Give credit to all those companies that build and market the high-tech toys of our world. Like the commercial says, “Bet you can’t eat just one!”. If I ever had to change careers, I’d love to be the one that thinks up all the associated articles that can be added to any given device, if enough money is included in the equation.

We went shopping at yet another camera store today. Not that there was any intention of buying “stuff”, since the money belt is empty for now. But, there are so many neat things that are just there, waiting for the influx of cash. Take the new flashes as an example. Here’s a bright light that uses an infrared sensor to detect how many lumens would be appropriate for a give situation. It then aims its beam according to the angle of the camera lens. The camera and the flash converse, wirelessly if you wish, and then the camera takes the advice of its brilliant partner. It auto-focuses the lens, sets the aperture and the picture just happens. The clerk told me!

On other fronts, another sister is celebrating her birthday today. I respect her right to get slightly older. After all, when she tells you to go to your room and stay there, she means what she says. Happy birthday, Choices!
