Is zip lining legal?

posted in humour, politics |

In the news: Castro quit. Five years ago. And nobody around here even noticed. Talk about “flying under the radar”.

In the news we’d like to see. No, let’s just wait on that one…

The federal government presented their latest book of pipe dreams (a budget), this afternoon. Those who are not part of the government have decided to not adopt the book as bedtime reading, and if there isn’t a change of heart then we get to enjoy summer under the umbrella of a general election. This is all very tentative, but we might get what we wish for.

Have you ever wondered what happens to those questionnaires that one must complete while on a quest for health care? The ones that ask if you are insane, terminally ill, related to the Antichrist? All of the above? Is it part of some statistical study? If your answers are iffy, do you get refused? Something to check into.

Another mystery telephone call this evening, with a robotic voice asking (in French) about how I would have voted if there had been an election today. Six choices, so I used my “none of the above” key (lucky 7), at which the robotic voice changed to English and told me that my choice would not work. I would love to see the flow chart for that bit of programming.

And Facebook told me that a family member was zip lining this afternoon. What am I supposed to do with that tidbit? Is zip lining legal? What are the prerequisites? I need to know.
