Back on the road status

Versatile; that’s me.  After a deciding to stay for an extra day, we decided not to stay, just like that. It did have something to do with “no room in the inn”, so maybe I’m just quick to react. Almost as valuable a quality as “versatility”.

Anyhow, we put the rig in Drive and drive we did, for hours and hours. There was that delay for coffee in Port Hawksbury, and another at the toll booth in Cobequid, but our daylight time was spent putting us closer to destination. An end to our  wanderlust.

I can’t pass up a good meal, and my steak dinner at the Hilltop in Fredericton was, as usual, excellent. Odd cut of meat, though. Something called the “baseball”, which was a lump of tender beef about the size of a tea biscuit.  Not an offering that graces our local butcher shelf.

The mandatory stop at the Chapters outlet reminded me that Quebec City is getting the short end of the marketing stick from the national chains. I do shop online, but the browsing in my browser doesn’t hold up to comparison. In passing, Fredericton has a much better selection than Charlottetown. I found a Paul Theroux volume to add to my shelf, and we spent time shopping for material “suitable for the secondary level reader”. No shortage of titles.

I’m listening in to a local 2M net. A different sense of ragchewh, compared to the formal structure closer to my QTH. I didn’t get any response on the 440 MHz band.
