Imminent signs of getting older

posted in environment |

It\s finally happened; our youngest no longer wants to go shopping with the parents. The chance to hang out in the shops and buy stuff that isn’t really needed (but still fun to have) is not enough to tempt.

Somehow, I doubt that the urge to look at stuff is really gone, so there must be another factor at work (play?) here. Could the thought of being seen by a peer, hangin’ with the parents, have lost its “cool”? I am indeed shocked to my core; none of the parenting books I never read, nor my own (limited) experience of going shopping with my folks prepared me for this one.

Oh well, guess I’ll have to take my psychological baggage in hand and just get on with it. I am getting older…
